Q: How late can I sign up? How late can I sign up? A: While we prefer you to have registered about 8 hours before a seminar, you can register all the way up to about 20 minutes before the start of the event. The email confirmation you receive upon payment will contain the additional link you will need to click before accessing the seminar as a live event. Q: I paid for my seminar, but I haven't gotten my invitation to join. I paid for my seminar, but I haven't gotten my invitation to join yet, what should I do? A: After you registered for the webinar from our site, you would have gotten an email from the address "server@eclipseseminars.com" with a second registration link. If you did not get that email first check your Junk email filters in case it got filtered out as such. If it did get filtered out just move it to your mailbox, then follow the instructions it contains. If you did not get this email at all, or cannot find it, please submit a trouble ticket to us by clicking on the "Support" tab at the top of any page and following the instructions on the screen. If you are attending as a recording you don't need to do anything as the second registration link only pertains to those who want to view the event live. Q: How does an Online Webinar work? How does an Online Webinar work? A: Our Online Webinars are simple. Once you have registered and paid for your seminar you will be emailed a link to join the webinar on it's scheduled data. Once you log in you will be able to see our presenter's screen, which, depending on the topic, will either be Eclipse, Windows or a combination of both. You'll also be able to pose questions to your presenter as well as chat with other attendees. The audio for the webinar is presented either through your computer's speakers or through a telephone line; the choice is yours on which you choose. After the LIVE Webinar has ended, attendess will be emailed the NCRA CEU redemption forms. If you elect to watch the recorded version instead of the live version, your CEU forms will be available for download once the recording is released. Q: I can't make the seminar, can I watch it later? I can't make the seminar, can I watch it later? A: Yes. If you were unable to attend the live webinar for any reason you will have 30 days to view the seminar online as a video, complete with audio and video. After 30 days your login information will expire. We are not adverse to extending your login time, you just have to ask. Q: How long do I have to watch my recorded seminar? How long do I have to watch my recorded seminar? A: The recorded seminar will be uploaded to our servers within 7 to 10 business days of airing live over the internet. Once that is complete, you will have 30 days in which to view your recorded seminars. You are entitled to view the recording once within the 30 day time period, however if you need to go over the material again, we are willing to accommodate you if necessary. Expiration extensions are available on request if you need a little more time to view, but we do have the ability to see how many times you have access the seminar and will cut off your access if you abuse it. Your 30 days of access begin when the webinar is released for viewing, not the date the webinar aired live. It is your responsibility to check and see when the recording is available, which you can do by visiting http://www.eclipseseminars.com/sod/status.asp or clicking on the "Check Webinar Status" button on the menu at the left side of our site. Q: Where do the email confirmations come from? Where do the email confirmations come from? A: You will receive your confirmation email (with your second registration link) from server@eclipseseminars.com. Please be sure to add that address, as well as the entire @eclipseseminars.com domain to your "Safe Sender" list in your mail program to ensure that you don't miss any communications from us. If you do not know how to add a domain or address to your safe senders list, please contact your local ISP. Q: I purchased my seminar as a recording, but I can't get in. I purchased my seminar as a recording, but I can't get in. A: Your email confirmation that you received after your initial singup included detailed instructions on how to obtain your username and password to access your recording. If you did not get that email, please first check your junk or spam email folders to see if the message was filtered out. If you still cannot find it, follow the instructions below: Additionally, you can try to have your password emailed to you. In some cases the email containing your login instructions is filtered out as junk mail, or you specified an incorrect email address with us. You can click the "View Recorded Webinars" link at your left, fill in your email address, check the "Send My Password" box and click "Login" to have your password emailed to you if you are in the system. Q: How many seminars am I allowed to take? How many seminars am I allowed to take? A: As many as you would like! Our seminars are designed to help you further your Total Eclipse and/or Computer Operating system knowledge. The only limit is how much you can handle! Q: What is the difference between a Webinar and an Online Seminar? What is the difference between a Webinar and an Online Seminar? A: There is no difference. You will probably see that we use those two terms interchangeably throughout our site. They mean the same thing, which is a seminar given online instead of a classroom or meeting hall. Q: What do i do if the recorded webinar I am watching keeps "freezing"? What do i do if the recorded webinar I am watching keeps "freezing"? A: This problem usually has to do with the speed of your connection to the internet as well as how many people are viewing the recording at a given time. We believe it's important to explain why this happens as well as how to correct for it, so please bear with us. The internet goes through different periods of increased and decreased speed, much like traffic on a highway. During peak "Rush Hour" periods (9 to 11AM, 2 to 4PM and 5 to 7PM) your internet connection, regardless of what type or how fast it's supposed to be, will slow down due to congestion. Congestion can also occur when we have a large number of people viewing our webinars at a single time. Additionally, your ISP may just be experiencing it's own "slow time" due to other reasons. The only way to combat the problem is to allow your computer more time to buffer your webinar. When you begin your webinar, a small amount of that webinar (about 2 minutes) is loaded onto your computer. As the webinar plays, more and more of that webinar is buffered (downloaded) to your computer. In most cases, your computer and internet connection will buffer the webinar faster than the webinar is actually playing, resulting in no freezing. However, if your computer/internet connection can't buffer the webinar fast enough, regardless of the reason, the webinar that is playing will pause as it waits for the next portion to download. Once it has downloaded enough, it will begin playing again; which is the "freezing" you may experience. To combat the problem, begin playing the webinar as usual. Once the webinar begins (you can see the video and hear the audio), pause it by clicking anywhere on the webinar player. While paused, the webinar will continue to buffer just as if it was playing, except there is no chance of the player catching up because it's paused. Leave the webinar paused for about 10 minutes and then resume playback by clicking anywhere on the player again. HINT: the longer you let it buffer, the more the webinar is downloaded, which decreases the chances of the freezing occurring again. Q: Can I register by telephone? Can I register by telephone? A: No. All registrations must be processed online due to time constraints and email issues. The online registration system will process your credit card and send you a confirmation email with registration link automatically, eliminating human error. Our site uses 128-Bit SSL security to ensure your transaction with us is secure. Q: I want to view the seminar as a recording, do I sign up differently? I want to view the seminar as a recording, do I sign up differently? A: No. We have changed our policy to include the live AND the recorded versions of each webinar as a part of the $49 cost. Therefor there are no additional steps necessary to view the recording instead of the live event. Q: Do I need to submit the paperwork and pay the NCRA fee to get my CEU points? Do I need to submit the paperwork and pay the NCRA fee to get my CEU points? A: Yes. There are different NCRA rules and guidelines for different kinds of events. We'll explain. Our webinar customers are protected against non-attendance, meaning that if for some reason they're unable to attend a webinar they've signed up and paid for, they haven't missed out. We provide them with an access code after the fact that allows them to view the seminar later, at an hour and day of their choosing. We do this if for no other reason than that the internet can be unreliable (things like weather can affect an attendee's ability to gain access to it). So a customer who experiences internet or log-in problems would be unable to attend through no fault of their own. But that's not the only good reason: your child may fall ill, or some relatives may show up unexpectedly, or you might get hit with some urgent transcript requests. So instead of penalizing our seminar attendees with the loss of the seminar and the CEUs, we make a recording available as a fail-safe. And that's the rub. NCRA pre-approved CEUs are ONLY given for seminars or webinars that are strictly a one-time event. In other words, if you miss it, you miss it. There is no recording or second bite at the apple allowed. Most webinars offer the same thing we do, which is a failsafe recording that can be viewed later. Hence, most webinars do not qualify for NCRA pre-approval. We're trying to make these events as convenient and as affordable as possible. In doing so, we had to make a decision about the pre-approved points. Ultimately, we decided that our customers' interests were best served by protecting them against an inability to attend. So far, that has been borne out. Those who have missed any of our webinars have been extremely grateful that we have a way to allow them to view it later. Q: I haven't gotten my CEU form yet, what now? I haven't gotten my CEU form yet, what now? A: The NCRA CEU point forms are distributed in 2 different ways. If you attended the LIVE event, you will receive a follow-up email about an hour after the live event ends. That email will contain a link to download and print your CEU Form. If you chose to view the recorded event, your CEU form will be available when you login to view the recording. Once you login and choose which seminar to watch, you will see a link to your CEU Form AND any handouts that were made available for that webinar. Q: Can I pay for the seminar and then watch it later? Can I pay for the seminar and then watch it later? A: Yes. We have changed our policy to include the live AND the recorded versions of each webinar as a part of the $49 cost. Seminar recordings are typically made available for view within 7 to 10 business days after the seminar airs live. Your confirmation email will contain instruction on how to obtain your username and password. These instructions are also duplicated on the login screen. Q: I can't hear any audio in my webinar, what now? I can't hear any audio in my live webinar, what now? A: You will have two options for the audio portion of the webinar when you login. The first is to use your computer speakers and listen to the audio as part of the webinar; in other words, it will be carried over the internet just like the video portion. This should work just fine for most attendees. However, internet connections can sometimes be problematic and this could cause audio or video problems. If you can see the video but the audio is garbled or faint, then your other option is to use your telephone and dial into a conference call. If you are experiencing any problems with the audio streamed over the internet, you should consider this option. It is usually a long distance call (for some it is local) but at today's per minute rates, the cost is usually nominal. Alternatively, we provide all our registrants with both the live and recorded versions. So no matter what difficulties you encounter -- technical, family, last-minute jobs, etc. -- you can still view the entire webinar. Your presenter will be reviewing your audio options at the beginning of the webinar. If you log in late and miss that portion of her webinar, you can click on this link to download a PDF of the instructions provided. http://www.eclipseseminars.com/helpdesk/docs/audio_options.pdf Q: If something goes wrong with my connection, can i view the seminar as a recording? If something goes wrong with my connection, can i view the seminar as a recording? Q: What are the costs of these seminars? What are the costs of these seminars? A: Each seminar, unless otherwise specified, is $49. If there are multiple parts to the webinar, each part is still $49. You can register using our online registration system which will acept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. If you wish to pay by training certificates you must makle special arrangements (see additional FAQs for more information). Q: Can I use one of my training certificates as payment?
